Return of the Blogger

This is my first time writing a blog post since February last year – and what a year it’s been! I’ve been working full time, polishing up my photography skills, and managed to squeeze in another Disney trip amongst all the madness. But after the craziness of 2019, I’ve decided, 2020 is the best time to make a return to blogging.

Which brings us to here, and the revival of this blog! If you were a reader of this blog before the break, you’ll know I primarily posted about beauty and fashion. I’ve decided to take a step back from that kind of content this year.

What’s the sitch?

I’ve been in front of screens for as long as I can remember. I always had a decent imagination as a kid, so I’d become completely engrossed in the plots and characters’ stories.

Star Wars was one of my favourites, and I remember asking to watch The Phantom Menace over and over; even though I was terrified of Darth Maul.

I carried that love of sci-fi with me throughout my childhood. There wasn’t a Saturday evening that wasn’t dictated by whether an episode of Doctor Who was on.

I also adored superhero films. One of my earliest memories is watching Spider-Man for the first time. I had a collection of comic books in my mid-teens that I safeguarded as if my life depended on it.

As an adult, I still love all of those things, but from a whole new perspective. I’ll still make the entire room stay silent if Doctor Who is on. When I went to see Avengers: Endgame in the cinema last year, I cried like a big baby. After studying media for four years, I find myself not only falling in love with what I see on screen, but understanding the process behind it.

After a lifetime of interrupting a film to point out a reference or explain how something was filmed, I thought it was time to start putting all my thoughts somewhere more productive.

Going forward, I’m going to be posting a bunch of film and TV reviews, as well as generic posts about entertainment. These could range from merchandise reviews to mini-reviews or lists of the shows I’ve been binge-watching.

As for my Disney trips, they’ll be finding a home on here too! My Disney posts were always popular on the old blog, and I have no desire to stop visiting the parks. You’ll be able to find trip reports on the blog, as well as helpful tips and tricks for your own trips!
